Screen Shot 2012-12-17 at 12.09.43

Sorry for the delay of our news section, it has been quite hectic few last weeks at Puremagic!

This month of October was definitively one of the most intense The Puremagic Family had in all our history.
We had an amazing battle for the Lake with perfect conditions for Freestyle and right after we were on the KSP mode!

Despite the very unluckily sunny conditions (YES sunny and non windy!!!!!), we took great pride and pleasure to look after this very unique event!
It was amazing to host such prestigious tour but more importantly to welcome all the amazing KSP riders and staff in Achill Island.
So many memories, so much magic all around!
Everyone enjoyed Achill and the 100000Welcome the whole local community gave to all.
There was still some great action days in particular that 1st sunday in Belmullet or the Freestyle Expression session on Keel Beach. Very inspiring indeed, we have now to work a bit to catch up with their level ;-)

Puremagic would like to thank EVERYONE involved, all our friends, all our partners, all of you who are full part of the success of this first event which hopefully will come back.
We would like to thank all the KSP crew and Freeride.ie to choose us for this special event
And of course once again thank you all the riders for being such great ambassadors for our great sport! Keep it real and good luck to all for the Finale in Maui!

This was truely Puremagic ;-)

Now lets get ready for some after season sales at Dublin, The lodge is now closed and will reopen Paddys Day 2013, and we will fly soon to Dakhla for our annual Puremagic trip,

See you all on the beach!

there are plenty of reports and pictures on the facebook pages and kspworldtour.com

SUP Series Round 3 (7th August)

SUP Series Round 3 (7th August)

Results: Yippee and after 3 rounds here we are:

Update (5th Sunday August) – We’e racing on Tuesday, hope you can make it!
Racing Tuesday 7th August – Round 3.
Meeting at: Sutton Dinghy Club Location
Briefing 7.15, First Start 7.30.

Hope your all enjoying the Bank Holiday and having fun on the water somewhere around Ireland. Well after almost a 3 week break we’re back!!! Weather for this Tuesday is shaping up well… Dry, Warm and light winds. We’re gonna run the sprint night, 3 short races… now hard can that be!!! looking forward to seeing you all for for some SUP, sweat, and laughs.

Update (Lunchtime 31st July) This Evening Is Cancelled — High all, as I’m sure you can see by looking out your window its pretty awful out there! The forecast for this evening seems to be getting worse by the hour with a mother of all front passing through early evening, we had hoped the worst of the weather would break early or later, but it looks like downpour and 20 to 25 kts of wind will greet us on the startline.. With that the only decision is to cancel, text messages are on the way to all previously registered riders and round three will now happen next Tuesday instead and we extend the series out by one week.

Update 30th July: Hope your all feeling refreshed after your weeks break! So tomorrow Tuesday (31st July 2012) we’re back with a crash and a bang, Pure Magic style!

Notice to Race:

Briefing – 7:15pm
First Start – 7:30pm
Location – Burrow Beach, Sutton. (see below for details)
Discipline – Short Sprints

If you’d like to rent a board for racing, please contact the shop before 5pm on +35318054912

Tomorrow looks peachy for racing Irish style, forget your south of france, sun screen and board shorts style racing, here in Ireland we’re made of stronger stuff than that, its our celtic blood.

With that in mind, we are racing from Burrow Beach, Sutton. As usual we hope you can make it and bring your passion for all things SUP, the plan is short sprints and beach starts, with a trip to the Bloody Stream for something to warm us up afterward.

SUP Series Round 2 (July 17th)

SUP Series Round 2 (July 17th)

Results

Round two of the PureMagic SUP Series worked out a treat, with happy faces allround. After much consideration and monitoring of the forecast we landed on Burrow Beach, Sutton last night for an evening of paddle racing. I’m so glad we waited as conditions we’re excellent and improved all evening, after the usual race briefing, the competitors sprinted away for a single race, 4.4k for xover, 6.6k for 12’6 raceboards. Our goal achieved ‘To set a course that would act as a warm up to SUP the Lough at the weekend’.

Some familiar faces couldn’t make last nights racing and where sadly missed. On the plus side; it was great to have IrishSUP Paul, and Walkonwater Ed join us, after there recent SUP surf & race trip to Gower and Brighon in the UK.

We’re taking a break next week with racing resuming on Tuesday 31st July. Expect the competition to be tougher than ever, with quite a few paddlers planning to taking some time out to work on race fitness & technique over the break.

Special thanks’s to JJ Daly for excellent race management, everyone for turning up and lending there paddle to the startline, or shouts from the shore, and Steve for sorting out the results.

And here they are –

Update:17th July Midday:

Notice to Race (12pm Tuesday 17th): After much consideration the venue for racing this evening will be Burrow Beach, Sutton. We expect the wind to build slowly over the the day from a west/ soth west direction. Burrow offers the best protection against the wind while offering wind against tide to balance and make for a great nights activity. Looking forward to seeing you there.

For directions please watch JJ’s video below at 1m 38seconds, or follow google maps below

Update:16th July:

PureMagic SUP Series Round 2 update: looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow (Tuesday 17th July)

Good News: we’re definitely racing, as usual briefing at 7.15, start at 7.30 sharp…. hope you all can make it!

Not So Good News: We will call the venue for racing at midday tomorrow on the website and facebook. Right now we are between Dollymount beach, or Burrow Beach in Sutton. Both areas are exposed and work in opposite conditions. The forecast is very changeable at the moment so by leaving it till midday tomorrow we have the best chance of scoring perfect conditions, vs horrible conditions.

happy paddling, cu tomorrow
