Nestled at the base of Slievemore Mountain and besides the Deserted Village, Pure Magic Achill Lodge overlooks Keel Lake. It’s just minutes away from blue flag beaches and only a few minutes drive from the villages of Keel and Dugort. It’s easily accessibly from all major roads and towns. All our Watersport Activities are ran on Keel Lake, just down the road!
Detailed Directions
From Dublin Airport
By Car: Driving from Dublin Airport to Achill takes around 3 hours 45 minutes depending on traffic. Follow the M1 towards Sligo/Galway, then take the N4 and the N5 to Westport, and from there take the N59 to Newport. From Newport, turn onto the R319 and cross Michael Devitt Bridge into Achill Island. Continue through Keel toward Dugort. Pure Magic is just a short distance off the R319.
By Train and Bus: From the airport, take a bus outside the terminal into the city centre. Get the Luas (tram) to Heuston Station where you can get a train to Westport Station. From Westport you can link up with the bus.
You can travel from Dublin to Westport or Castlebar by bus.
From Westport or Castlebar, take Bus Éireann Route 450 to Keel Village on Achill. This takes about 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic. From Keel it’s a short six-minute drive to Pure Magic. Contact us if you need a taxi arranged.

From Dublin Port
By car: From Dublin Port, merge onto the M1 / M50 and continue west via the N4 and N5 to Castlebar. From Castlebar, follow the N59 through Mulranny and then branch off onto the R319 into Achill Island via the Michael Devitt Bridge. Drive through Keel Village and turn at Minaun View Pub. Continue for 2 km and turn . Then climb for .5 km—the lodge is on the left.
From Westport
By car: approximately 60 km (about 50–55 minutes) from Westport via the N59 to Newport, then branch left onto R319 at Mulranny. Continue across Michael Devitt Bridge and follow signs to Keel Village. Once in Keel, turn right at the Minaun View Pub and follow the road for 2 km. After the first bridge turn right again and climb for 1.5 km—the lodge is on the left-hand side.
By bus: bus Éireann route 450 runs directly from Westport Bus Station to Keel Village. The journey takes about 49 minutes.
From there it’s only a 6 minute drive. From Keel it’s a short six-minute drive to Pure Magic. Contact us if you need a taxi arranged.

From Galway
By car: Travel from Galway via the N84 to Castlebar, then take N59 through Mulranny and turn onto the R319 toward Achill Island. Cross the Michael Davitt Bridge and drive through Keel Village. Turn right at Minaun View Pub and follow the road for another 2 km. Turn right after the bridge and the lodge is about 1.5km away, on your left.
By train and bus:
You can get a train from Galway to Westport and the bus from Westport. Check out irishrail.ie for train info.
