It all started with a friendship in Ireland when Francois Colussi and Catherine Etienne met in Waterford, Ireland in 2001. At that time Francois was finishing a Diploma in Carlow, and was giving his first kite lessons in Tramore with Ed Humm from Ed’s Shed Surf shop. Each went their separate ways, Catherine studied International marketing and was involved in different businesses in Spain while Francois went travelling and studying on the other side of the world in New Zealand.

His heart brought him back to Ireland in 2005 where he started giving kitesurfing lessons on Dollymount Beach. In 2006 Francois set up PureMagic Watersports with his twin brother Christophe and Catherine and this small 3 person business expanded each year, joined by Christophe Kerskevan who ran the Kitesurfing school. In 2010 the Puremagic team opened a Guesthouse lodge and Kitesurfing school on the West Coast of Ireland on Achill Island. Bringing people together is really what we are about.

Finally the third part of the business is our Events and corporate activities. Since the beginning Pure Magic has organised small and large scale events and festivals. This is all about our pleasure and privilege to bring people, you, into cool experiences
